The Cowichan Fish and Game Association has been in continuous operation since
1931, despite a name change early on. The shooting range scored second-highest in
B.C. for government safety approval, and is used by the RCMP, game wardens and
officers of the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, as well as by the general public. The
Association runs a Junior Rifle Program, taught by an accredited instructor. Many
graduates have gone on to win medals at the B.C. Summer Games. One member
competes internationally, as she is one of the top women shooters in Canada. The
Association also has an active co-ed Horseshoe League, hosts a free fishing
derby/campout and pot-luck supper in Port Renfrew on B.C. Day every year, and each
June, they celebrate Brown's Day with a campout at which they BBQ a whole pig. On
Hallowe'en, the public is invited to their bonfire and fireworks display, with free hot-dogs
and Hallowe'en goodies for the kids.

extensive opportunities for hiking, cycling, bird-watching or horse-riding. The private b&b
suite boasts a bedroom, 3-piece bathroom, living room and recroom, complete with a
ping-pong table, plus a hot tub for guests' use. The generous country-style breakfast
offered by your host, Deb Macmurchie, ensures guests will be well-fortified for the
coming day's activities. Guest horses have shaded pastures, a horsy playground, large

Twin Creeks Horsemanship lessons is about learning the horse's language, instead of
the horse learning ours. It's about learning how a horse's mind works and recognizing
that horses are herd animals who instinctively seek and depend on good leadership from
their owner. Clients will discover what motivates horses, acquire ground skills, learn to
ride safely and with confidence outside the arena, and develop a connected relationship
with their horse.
